The Proposal
HOW IT HAPPENED

I knew it was coming, but felt pretty confident it would not be this day. He was coming home from school just for the day, to spend some time with me. We planned to go out to dinner, but on the way to the restaurant, he said we had to stop at his (family's) house first. When we got there, rose petals guided a path from the doorstep to a small table in the dinning room set up for a romantic dinner for two. He then prepared a dinner far better than anything we would have had at the restaurant: Filets, potatoes, and green beans. (We know who is going to be the cook in our house!!) After dinner, he cleared the plates and sat back down across from me. ("Whats next?!" Im thinking, and his face seemed to say the same thing.) At that point, the song "Someone To Watch Over Me" came on (playlist was on shuffle but this was THE song he picked out for THIS event). He told me to check under my chair, where I found a box. He got down on his knee and began to tell me why he wanted to marry me. It was so sweet and romantic that I kissed him while he was still talking! He had to hold me back so he could finish the proposal. ;) When he asked, I said yes, then the song ended. Perfectly timed. After we danced and talked for awhile, he took me to Kaffein (a coffee shop in Evanston) where he had asked me to be his girlfriend 2 years and 4 months before. We even sat at the same table that we did back then! Perfect.
