How do you describe the most important person in your life in 250 words or less? Yikes. With Laura, that’s nearly impossible—there’s way too much to say.

Let’s admit right away that the most confirming thing about Laura is her faith in Jesus Christ: more than her beauty, more than her personality, and more than her achievements (and there’s plenty to say about those). Laura’s heart has been transformed by a faith that treats others as greater than herself and seeks to know the one true God and his purposes for her life: that faith is more powerful and true than anything in this world.

Laura and I have been friends for around 7 years; we’ve dated the last 2.5 or so of those years. Never have I before been so refined by another human; Laura has been a faithful companion, pursuer of my heart, and affirmer of my manhood. There is no woman in the world that is more worth waiting for.

In asking Laura to be my wife, I am choosing to serve and love as Christ did. There is no higher calling in life than showing Christ’s eternal love to the world, and being with Laura means I get to do that with a teammate! Laura is my princess, my competition, my comic relief, my best friend and kindred spirit. My words don’t do her justice.
